[CASE STUDY]

A custom archive built to make a large, nonlinear body of information easier to explore, understand, and maintain.

The biggest challenge was making the archive actually useful to the community. Newer users were often missing community catchups, or "SitReps," that gave important context to older events. Another challenge was that the timeline could show when something happened, but not why something from six months ago might suddenly matter again.

That is where the Timeline-web came from. The timeline keeps the history readable, while each entry can open into a detective-board-style web of related videos, evidence, and events. The goal was to let someone walk into the middle of a story gone cold and still piece together what happened.

All archive media featured in this project belongs to TEP and its community. My work is the archive, interface, and systems built around it.

TUNING NOTES

A mobile car audio business that needed to turn word of mouth into a clearer customer path online without losing the personality that made it local.

The job was to give a small service business a proper home online. Someone landing on the site needed to understand the kinds of builds available, get a feel for the work, and know how to take the next step without digging around or making a call just to learn the basics.

The frog, rough western type, near-black field, green, and hot pink give the site its identity. Underneath that, the structure stays direct and practical. Services are easy to compare, inquiries collect the details needed to start a conversation, and the business has a stronger place to send people than a social profile or phone number alone.

A little about me

Make it useful.
Make it memorable.

A business website has a job to do. Someone should be able to understand what you offer, trust what they are looking at, and know what to do next without having to think about the interface itself.

I have always been drawn to minimalist furniture, where function and detail meet at a strange tipping point. A chair can be reduced almost to nothing, then one unusual angle or material gives it personality without making it any worse at being a chair. I think websites work the same way.

I started building websites almost by accident while looking for a way to work independently. What kept me interested was realizing the work does not have to stop at the page. A website can connect the customer facing experience to the tools a business uses behind it.

Once the useful part works, we can get weird. The details can establish character, atmosphere, and personality without asking the visitor to struggle through the experience just to appreciate the design.

I want someone to leave your site understanding what the business does, what makes it different, and what they should do next. The personality should make that easier to remember, not harder to use.
